Twelve years ago: Summer 2005. It was hot and some people in Asuni installed a big screen for film projections in the amphitheater. Among participants, Stephan Van den Zegel, a Belgian friend who without much fuss took dozens of photos. And here they are. He sent them a few days ago and it was a strange surprise. I remember everything and I see many faces that will also recall those moments. There are also two Finnish friends. Riccardo Pittau in concert. Oreste. The amphitheater and the projection booth. Lots of people at work. I think it's a nice birthday present for terre di confine filmfestival. A chent'annos (As we say in Sassari: "II hope it can continue for a hundred years").

The story of the MEA, the Museum of Emigration in Asuni, starts in 2002, thanks to the initiative of Antonio Porcu, born in Asuni and migrated to Bologna, who donates a small old house to the Municipality of Asuni. This is the starting point of a series of cultural activities aimed at creating a documentation center dedicated to emigration issues, and in general to the study and dissemination of migrant cultures.
At that time in Asuni, a group of people begins to interact with the non-profit organization Su Disterru. Thanks to more complex and richer connections between the small village and various international bodies, new synergies and new activities are developed: terre di confine filmfestival is one of these.
Today March 3rd 2017, terre di confine filmfestival, X edition was presented in a press conference held at the Cineteca Sarda in Cagliari. Paolo Zucca (artistic director), Mauro Tendas (major of Solarussa and regional councellor) and Sandro Sarai (member of Su Disterru onlus, the organising association) illustrated the detailed program, the list of guests from Ireland and Finland, the section dedicated to Sardinian cinema and the special events related to the festival.
