Director Shona Main is one of the guests and curators of the thirteenth edition of terre di confine filmfestival, concluded in October 2020 and dedicated to the Shetland islands. Due to the health emergency, Shona was unable to come to Sardinia, but she prepared a set of video-presentations for our festival, which we now want to share on the web.
Her first presentation concerns her biopic 'Clavel', made in 2013, dedicated to James Robert Sinclair, an old crofter (shepherd/farmer) of the Shetland.
James Robert, born in 1930, lived in Clavel until he moved to sheltered housing a few years ago. The biopic follows with great empathy his daily life during a full year, at home and in the fields with his sheep. The narrating voice is James Robert's. The original soundtrack is by Bigton musicians Alice Mullay and Jonathan Ritch.
Parallel to this presentation, Shona Main has allowed our festival to publish the full version of 'Clavel' (with Italian subtitles prepared by our festival) for free viewing for one month starting today November 26th. So here is 'Clavel', for those who could not watch it during our festival Asuni last September, and for those who wish to watch it again. Enjoy it!
