Paolo Zucca

After graduating in Modern Literature in Florence, Paolo Zucca attended the RAI School for Film and Television Writers. He graduated in Film Direction at the N.U.C.T. Cinecittà and his final work, Banana Rossa, was shortlisted for the Young Director Award at Cannes and the Foreign Press Golden Globe in Italy. In addition to a feature film he wrote and directed many award-winning short films, animations, documentaries and commercials. In 2009 his short film The Referee won the David di Donatello and the Special Jury Prize at Clermont-Ferrand, the most important short film festival in Europe. In 2013 The Referee became a feature film with Stefano Accorsi, Geppi Cucciari, Francesco Pannofino, Jacopo Cullin and Benito Urgu. The Referee opened the Venice Days at 70th Venice Film Festival in Venice and has successfully participated in major international festivals. Paolo Zucca was born in Cagliari in 1972 and lives between Sardinia and Rome.
