Katja Gauriloff

Katja Gauriloff was born on December 6, 1972 in Inari, Finland and is part of Lapland’s indigenous Sami Skolt tribe. Today she is a film director and co-owner of the Oktober Production Company. She is the author of two documentaries, Huuto tuule - A Shout into the Wind (2007), and Säilöttyja unelmia - Canned Dreams, which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2012, before heading to Hot Docs and numerous other festivals all over the world. Previously she authored Sincere Intentions (2004). In 2016 her movie Kuun metsän Kaisa was awarded several prizes.
